“Prime numbers and their distributions” (Mar 2026)
Everyone has heard of the Riemann Hypothesis, but perhaps not everyone knows why it is important. Analysis offers rich insights on how prime numbers are expected to behave. In this talk I provide a low-level explanation on how this famous open problem is connected to how expectation differs from reality.
“A crash course of Kloosterman sums” (Sep 2025)
Any analyst working with modular forms is fated to meet with the Kuznetsov formula at least once in his lifetime; it relates objects coming from analysis (Fourier coefficients) to objects coming from algebra (Kloosterman sums). I present some of the underlying ideas and applications to number theory.
