Analysis offers rich insights on how prime numbers are expected to behave. In this talk I provide a low-level explanation on how this famous open problem is connected to how expectation differs from reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;A crash course of Kloosterman sums&#8221;<\/em> (Sep 2025)<br>Any analyst working with modular forms is fated to meet with the Kuznetsov formula at least once in his lifetime; it relates objects coming from analysis (Fourier coefficients) to objects coming from algebra (Kloosterman sums).
